About the Artist

As the youngest member of the Firebird Artist Association, I began painting and selling my work at age 16 at local art shows in Arizona. I am primarily self-taught with a minor in Fine Arts from Glendale Community College and a Business & Finance Degree from the University of Phoenix. My career was in state government spanning 31 years and in the latter years, I did not have much of a chance to paint. Fortunately I was able to retire in 2003 and began painting again.

Effective October 2018, I am President of the Westbrook Village (WBV) Fine Arts Association in Peoria, AZ. I also belong to the Vanguard Artists critique group and am on the Board of the Arizona Art Alliance, serving as their Jury Director. The Arizona Art Alliance is comprised of 19 groups in Arizona. Both the WBV and the Vanguard groups are members.
I am inspired to paint from the photographs I take during my travels locally and abroad and have been fortunate to have traveled many places in the US, Europe and Africa too.

Over the past 15 years I have received over 30 awards (Best of Show, First, Second & Third, Merits and Cash Awards), while participating in local juried Arizona based shows.
